Restaurant Review: Tacuba Cantina Mexicana (Hell’s Kitchen, NYC)

Came here dinner. The first and foremost thing to keep in mind is that the portions are tiny, especially considering the prices. The tacos were tiny and my carne asada was also pretty small. The gaucamole is okay, but it’s okay everywhere.

Score: 3.8/10 Spent a bunch of money for some of the smallest tacos I have ever seen. Never coming back. There are far too many restaurants that can do tacos and decent guacamole for less money and larger serving sizes. Drinks were all right.

Restaurant Review: Havana Social

Came here with some friends.

Ordered the Prix Fix menu, which was either and appetizer with an entree or a desert with an entree. We ordered guacamole, the classic Cuban sandwich, the Pernil Asado (roasted pork), the Chipotle pork chop, and the tres leche.

The Pernil Asado came in a bento box, which was interesting. The pork chop was tender, not dry. Overall, not bad.

Service was nice.

The environment was hot. Too hot. Sweated through the whole meal. Plus, the lights… too much neon.

Score: 5.5/10
