Tacombi is another beer and taco place near in Manhattan. Like most taco place in Manhattan, the tacos are small and unsatisfying. Most tacos are somewhere from three to ten dollars. They have all the classic taco types.

I had the carnitas (around three dollars), Baja fish tacos (around six dollars), and a Horchatta (around four dollars). It was fine.

The biggest reason to come here is that the environment is comfortable and casual. Service was also really nice.

Overall, it was okay.

Restaurant Review: Hide-Chan Ramen

Hide-Chan is located directly upstairs from Totto Ramen. I don’t know if they compete or cooperate, but it is an interesting location for two businesses that do the same thing.

I came here for lunch during a weekday. I ordered the classic ramen which came with two slices of pork with noodles (you get to choose the firmness and whether you want straight or curvy noodles) and broth for ten dollars. I don’t know what their happy hour policy is, but they gave me a free extra topping, of which I got the soft-boiled egg. I also got an extra order of noodles for two dollars.

Overall, everything was good. Service was fine. Noodles were fine. Since I just had Totto Ramen recently, I can say that Totto was a little better, but not by much. Hide-Chan Ramen or Totto Ramen, both are solid ramen options. Also, for ten dollars, it’s a pretty good deal.

It wasn’t that long ago that Totto Ramen was considered by many New Yorkers to be the best ramen in the city. Years have gone by, and while I’m not sure it’s the best ramen in the city, it’s one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve had in New York at a good price.

Double Zero is a vegan pizza place located in the East Village. They have other things on the menu, but what they’re known for is the pizza.

A friend recommended I try this place and it was exactly what I thought it was going to be. It was fine.

Came here for a quick lunch. Got the beef rice bowl for around nine dollars I think. It wasn’t great, but it was fast. They have some shitty sushi and noodles if you want that.

John Brown Smokehouse is a barbecue place that specializes in Kansas style barbecue. I looked it up to see what it means, but it really doesn’t matter to me. Good barbecue tastes good. That’s all I care about.
